A Turtle and A Pair of Ducks (Seokor Kura-Kura dan Sepasang Itik)

A Turtle and A Pair of Ducks

A turtle, which you know always carries his home behind his back, said never leave his home, how hard he tried. Some say that the Jupiter God had sentenced the turtle because he was very lazy and preferred to stay at home and not to go to the wedding of Jupiter God, although the Jupiter God had specially invited him.

After many years, the turtle began to hope that someday he could attend a wedding. When he saw birds flying happily in the sky and how the rabbits and squirrels and all sorts of animals
swiftly running, he wanted to be agile like other animals. The turtle was very sad and dissatisfied. He wanted to see the world as well, but he has a house on his back and his legs are too small and should be dragged when walking.

One day he met a pair of ducks and told his troubles.

"We can help you to see the world," said the ducks. "Hold on to this wood with your teeth and we will carry you away into the sky where you can see the entire land under you. But you must be quiet and not talk or you'll be very sorry."

The turtle was very happy heart. He quickly held the wood tightly with his teeth, a pair of ducks each of them held both ends of the wood in their mouths, and flew up into the clouds.

at that time a crow was flying across it. He was very impressed with what he saw and said:

"You must be king of the turtles!"

"Surely I ......" the turtle began to say.

But once he opened his mouth to utter these words, he lost his grip on the wood and fell down to the bottom, where he finally crashed onto the rocks in the ground.

Foolish curiosity and vanity often lead to misfortune.

"Tentu saya......" kura-kura mulai berkata.
